WE CONTINUE TO HAVE GREAT SUPPORT AND ONGOING DONATIONS FROM THE CARING CITIZENS OF THIS WONDERFUL PLACE LOVINGLY CALLED "DA BURG" HERE JUST OF THE BEATEN PATH. WE STILL NEED VOLUNTEERS TO HELP US DO THE WORK OF CARING FOR OUR CHILDREN WHO ARE IN NEED. WE HAVE RAISED $ 16,577.35 SINCE OUR HUMBLE START AND WE ARE FAST APPROACHING ONE YEAR BIRTHDAY. RECENT DONATIONS FROM OUR WONDERFUL COMMUNITY ARE AS FOLLOWS; UNITED METHODIST,YOUTH MINISTRY, WARRENSBURG, CENTRAL MISSOURI CREDIT UNION, WARRENSBURG. WE HAVE MANY PLANS IN THE PREPARATION PHASE THE WILL REFRESH THE SPIRIT OF MOST OF OUR CHILDREN IN DA BURG. ALSO, THE EARLY BIRDS OF THE ROTARY HAVE VOLUNTEERED TO HELP OUT BY DONATION FROM THE TASTE OF WARRENSBURG PROCEEDS.CH October 5th, 2009 Minutes
- Current balance of CH $16577.35
- We had many organizations on their own initiative giving monies to CH. Some are listed below. We really appreciate their help to CH.
- First United Methodist Church held a fundraiser for CH. Amount TBD.
- Central Community Bank donated $470.
- Warrensburg Professional Business Women donated 25 pairs of new sweats and $50.00.
- Warrensburg Race Track donated numerous notebooks, pencils, toiletries and hats, socks and mittens.
- US Military Chaplains Corps raised $733.79 for CH.
- Early Bird Rotary is interested in sponsoring CH next year for the Taste of Warrensburg. They will get back to CH soon.
- RVI Social Workers are likely very busy, however, CH has not had a representative attend a meeting since Nov of 08. CH will request an RVI representative from the schools to relay the needs of the children so funds can be appropriated effectively.
- Chuck Becker came up with a new idea for helping needy children. Specifically his vision is to provide shoes for needy children using funds from CH and a local shoe vendor. As a team we brainstormed ideas on when and where.
- The YES organization requested assistance with children attending their organization who do not have funds and are needy.
